Iran's President Confirms Intelligence Minister Ismail Khatib Assassinated
Ismail Khatib, Iran's Minister of Intelligence, has been killed as a result of an Israeli airstrike on Tehran, reports The Times of Israel, citing the defense ministry.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have authorized military personnel to eliminate senior Iranian officials without requiring additional permission.
It is noteworthy that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has confirmed the death of Intelligence Minister Ismail Khatib.
Khatib was appointed as Iran's Intelligence Minister in 2021. Media reports suggest that Ismail Khatib was one of the closest associates of the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Mojtaba Khamenei.
