Whitcoff Reports on First Day Results of Russia-Ukraine Negotiations
The United States special envoy, Steve Whitcoff, has reported on the results of the first day of negotiations held in Geneva between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine, noting that both sides have agreed to inform their respective leaderships and continue working on an agreement.
A new phase of negotiations regarding the Ukrainian settlement among Russia, the United States, and Ukraine is taking place in Geneva on February 17-18.
“The U.S. has facilitated the trilateral negotiations between Ukraine and Russia… Both sides have agreed to inform their respective leaderships and continue working on an agreement,” Whitcoff wrote on the X social media platform.
The special envoy also expressed gratitude to the Swiss authorities for hosting the negotiations.
