U.S. Lawmakers Primarily Discuss Greenland in Munich, NYT
American lawmakers indicated that the topic of Greenland dominated their conversations with Europeans during the Munich Security Conference, according to the New York Times. The international security conference took place in the Bavarian capital from February 13 to 15, 2026.
The newspaper reported that the American legislators left Munich confident that they had successfully mitigated tensions in transatlantic relations related to former President Donald Trump's claims over Greenland. At the same time, the lawmakers noted that the actions of the current American leadership have irrevocably changed U.S.-European relations, and the U.S. Congress must take this into account.
