Kyiv Blocks Oil Supplies from Russia: Sijarto
The "Druzhba" pipeline has not been damaged and is ready for operation, however, Ukraine is obstructing the supply of Russian oil, stated Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Sijarto.
"The damage to the infrastructure around the pipeline does not prevent its operation. Technically, it is ready to resume supplies. Therefore, the only reason for obstruction is political," he said on the radio station "Kosuth." This was the Foreign Minister's response to reports concerning Hungary and Slovakia halting supplies through Ukraine.
According to the Slovak newspaper "Noviny," imports are expected to resume in the coming days. The Ministry of Economy has described the situation as a threat to Slovakia's and the entire region's energy security.
