Moscow Notes EU's Silence, Says Russian Foreign Ministry
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko has announced that European states have so far failed to respond to Moscow's proposal to sign a document guaranteeing a non-aggression commitment towards Europe. He made this statement in an interview with the newspaper "Izvestia."
According to Grushko, there is no such provision in the European Union's stance, while Brussels continues to try to engage in the negotiation process. He pointed out that this approach by the EU effectively excludes the union's participation in discussions on peaceful resolutions.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also emphasized that the European Union expresses solidarity by providing security guarantees to Ukraine, but does not articulate the same condition for Russia. He argued that without security guarantees for Moscow, any peace treaty would be impossible.
