Controversial Facts About Gold Imports at the SRS Under Investigation by the Anti-Corruption Committee

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" continues to investigate various circumstances related to the activities of the Electronic Commerce and Air Transport Department of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, which hold public significance and potential criminal legal implications.

Earlier, "Zhoghovurd" had published information indicating that on October 9, 2025, at the instruction of the department head Rafael Zakaryan, a directive was issued in an internal "WhatsApp" group at the SRS not to document the identifying (serial) numbers on gold ingots being imported from Moscow to Yerevan.

According to sources from the newspaper, during the period from October 9, 2025, to December 3, approximately 2 tons of gold ingots imported by the Yerevan Jewelry Factory LLC did not have their serial numbers, country of origin data, or weight captured in photographs. Instead, photographs were taken of the sections of the ingots where the information was not visible.
