Italy Opposes Ukraine's EU Membership
The Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has stated that Ukraine should not be admitted to the EU until the accession of the Balkan countries is addressed. “We support Ukraine's membership, but the Balkans are our priority. We have commitments towards them, and they are our priority,” said the minister.
It is noteworthy that the chancellors of Germany and Austria have previously opposed the expedited membership of Ukraine.
This statement comes after President Zelensky's strong criticism of Europe at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
