Greece Plans to Restrict Movement of Russian Diplomats
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats accredited in the EU within Greece. The Russian diplomatic mission in Athens has described this as a confrontational and senseless move, according to RIA Novosti.
Earlier, it was declared under the 19th sanctions package of the EU that Russian diplomats and consular officials accredited in EU member states would be required to inform the authorities of the Schengen country they plan to traverse, including in transit.
The embassy's press service has stated that the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clarified certain points regarding the restrictions on the movement of Russian foreign workers and their family members in EU countries, which were introduced on January 25.
