Hungary Will Not Allow Ukraine to Join the EU in the Next 100 Years, Orbán
Ukraine is attempting to influence the outcome of the parliamentary elections in Hungary, understanding that the current government will not allow it to join the European Union. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made this statement during a conversation with reporters, commenting on the results of the EU summit held in Brussels.
During the meeting, the European Commission introduced a 'roadmap' for Ukraine aimed at its EU membership by 2027. Orbán is convinced that this will not happen.
'I believe that in the next 100 years, there will be no parliament in Hungary that will vote in favor of Ukrainians joining the EU,' he said.
'We do not want them to join the EU,' emphasized the Prime Minister, adding that this is precisely why Kyiv is interested in the victory of the opposition and is attempting to interfere in Budapest's internal affairs.
'We must accept that Ukrainians will be active participants in the Hungarian electoral campaign since a change of government in Hungary aligns with their fundamental interests.'
'I am not happy about this, and we will fight against it,' Orbán assured.
