NATO Countries Ready to Send Over 30 Soldiers to Greenland
According to RIA Novosti, NATO's European countries are prepared to send a mere three dozen soldiers to defend Greenland from the United States. Seven countries have already announced such intentions. They will dispatch a total of 34 soldiers to the island. The largest contingents will come from France and Germany. Reports indicate that the French contingent will consist of 15 personnel. President Emmanuel Macron has promised to reinforce them with land, sea, and air resources.
Germany has already sent 13 soldiers to Denmark. From there, they will arrive in Greenland on a regular flight alongside representatives from other countries.
The contributions from other NATO members interested in bolstering military presence in Greenland are relatively modest. Norway and Finland will send two soldiers each, while the United Kingdom and the Netherlands will send one each. Additionally, Swedish troops have already arrived on the island.
