India Anticipates Rapid Agreement with EAEU: Ambassador
India is looking forward to a swift free trade agreement with the EAEU, stated Vinay Kumar, India's Ambassador to Russia, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"Negotiations began in November, and the first phase has taken place. I would say that there is a good understanding on both sides regarding what we aim to achieve. Furthermore, both sides have the political will to reach this goal. Thus, we hope for a rapid outcome," noted the ambassador.
According to him, India is confident that the free trade agreement will help overcome the imbalance in bilateral trade by increasing Indian exports.
"Negotiations with the Eurasian Economic Commission will be expedited so that we can benefit from the free trade regime as soon as possible. This will also be another step toward eliminating trade imbalances," concluded the diplomat.
