US Bans Entry of Some Officials, Including Former EU Commissioner
The U.S. State Department has announced a decision to ban five Europeans from entering the country, including former EU Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton.
According to the Secretary of State's statement, these individuals have utilized their official positions to promote repressive censorship measures against American figures and companies.
U.S. authorities accuse Breton of attempting to limit freedom of expression and unjustly targeting major American technology companies with excessively heavy regulations.
It has also been noted that Breton previously entered into controversies with X social media owner Elon Musk for refusing to comply with European laws regarding user rights and data protection.
The visa restrictions also extend to British and German rights activists and experts.
