Cambodia Closes All Border Crossings with Thailand Due to Conflict
Cambodia has closed all border crossings with Thailand amid escalating tensions between the two countries, according to a report by Agence France-Presse citing the Cambodian Ministry of Interior.
"Cambodia has suspended all border crossings with Thailand," the statement said.
The Thai newspaper 'Khaosod' reported this morning that Thai Air Force fighter jets have struck targets on the Cambodian side, destroying bridges and suspicious structures along the border.
Clashes in the border areas between Thailand and Cambodia intensified over the weekend. Both sides have been accused of violating ceasefire agreements, with the Thai side conducting airstrikes on military targets.
Recent reports indicate that Thailand has recorded the loss of three civilians and nine military personnel, with over 120 people injured during the border clashes. Meanwhile, Cambodian authorities have reported the deaths of 11 civilians, including a newborn, and 74 injuries.
As a result of the fighting, approximately 400,000 residents in Thai border provinces have been evacuated, and over 300,000 people have been forced to leave their homes in Cambodia.
