Leaders of Thailand and Cambodia Agree to Cease Hostilities: Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia agreed to establish a ceasefire during a recent phone conversation.
“I had a very good conversation this morning with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet regarding the very sad resurgence of their long-standing conflict. They have agreed to stop all military operations starting this evening and return to the initial peace agreement that I negotiated with them with the assistance of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform.
The escalation of military operations in the border areas between Thailand and Cambodia began over the past weekend. Both parties have accused each other of breaching the ceasefire, and the Royal Thai Air Force has carried out airstrikes.
