Details of Trump's New Peace Plan Released

Details of Trump’s new peace plan have been revealed. ZN.UA claims that a revised version of the controversial project has emerged.

The document is divided into four sections, but the essence is clear: Ukraine is required to make concessions in exchange for security guarantees and a fast-tracked path to EU membership.

Territories: The U.S. proposes strengthening Russia's control over Crimea, the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), and the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). Changes in status can only occur through diplomatic means.

Donetsk Region: A demilitarized zone will be established, encompassing approximately 30% of the area. The armed forces of Ukraine and Russia will withdraw from this zone.

Zaporizhzhia and Kherson: The front line is frozen with current control recognized.

Withdrawal of Russian Troops: Russia is required to exit all other occupied territories outside the five designated regions.

NATO: The U.S. notably mentions that the alliance will not expand further and will not invite Ukraine to join. The deployment of NATO troops in Ukrainian territory is prohibited.

Ukrainian Military: The permissible limit is set at up to 800,000 soldiers.

Security: Ukraine is offered security guarantees that are similar in content to NATO's Article 5 but would not have legal binding power.

Elections: They must be conducted “as soon as possible” after the signing of the agreement.

Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant: Its reactivation is to be assigned to an American operator, with 50% of the generated energy allocated to Ukraine.

EU: The plan anticipates Ukraine's membership in the EU by January 1, 2027.

Russian Assets: The U.S. aims to partially unfreeze them. Part of the funds will be used for Ukraine’s recovery, while some may be directed towards U.S.-Russia projects.
