Iran and Turkey to Build New Joint Railway
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that Iran and Turkey have reached an agreement to construct a new joint railway line.
According to him, the parties have decided to build a transit railway line named Marand-Cesme-Soraya, which is intended to become a strategic route between Asia and Europe. The route will connect from Iran to the Aralık border region of Turkey.
Abbas Araghchi noted that the railway is expected to be approximately 200 kilometers long. The total cost of the project will be around 1.6 billion dollars, and the construction will take three to four years.
