Poor Air Quality Is Not Just Yerevan's Problem: Tigran Avinyan

Poor air quality is not just a problem for Yerevan. The air quality in Vedi, Artashat, and the entire Ararat Valley is currently similarly poor. This announcement was made by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan.

"This is mainly due to the basin location of the cities, winter inversion, and seasonal climatic processes, which are simply not allowing the air to rise and change during this period. Anthropogenic factors can somewhat worsen the situation within the city, but the inversion itself is a regional physical phenomenon independent of any actions. Yes, the air quality is not good at the moment. But it's important for all of us to have a clear understanding of what causes this, what the real reason is, and what steps we have already taken or will take to change the situation. I will definitely return to this topic soon and present all the measures we have taken and will take in cooperation with the government's partners," Avinyan stated.
