Manasyan Addresses Processes Affecting Armenians in Azerbaijan
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia has addressed the processes affecting Armenians arbitrarily deprived of their freedom in Azerbaijan, emphasizing their humanitarian and legal problematic nature. This was discussed during a meeting with Luis Grasa, Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Special Representative for the South Caucasus.
The Human Rights Defender spoke on a range of issues related to rights, including the protection of the rights of persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, the importance of safeguarding rights within the framework of criminal proceedings, and the criteria for the legality of detention.
Anahit Manasyan specifically highlighted the problematic nature of the processes concerning Armenians arbitrarily deprived of their freedom from a human rights perspective. Among other topics, the possibilities for expanding cooperation in the field of human rights protection and promotion were also discussed.
