Man Who Took Four Lives in Kotayk May Be Found Insane
On October 12, a man in Kotayk who took the lives of four people while armed with a hunting rifle may be declared insane and evade responsibility. The Investigative Committee informed "Factinfo" that a forensic psychiatric examination has been commissioned for the individual within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
While the specifics that led to such an examination have not been clarified by the preliminary investigation body, it should be noted that this individual recently obtained a license to carry a hunting rifle. Questions arise regarding how such a permit was granted by the police if there were mental health issues.
The Investigative Committee has requested a written inquiry to respond to the question.
It is worth recalling that in the Kotayk region, the man initially killed a couple who were collecting carrots in the fields of Aramus, having determined their location through a phone call, and subsequently murdered another couple. Notably, one of the victims resided abroad and had recently returned to Armenia; on the day of the incident, they had gone out to enjoy nature with a friend.
