Samvel Karapetyan Will Continue to Remain in Custody

Businessman Samvel Karapetyan will continue to remain in custody: the RA Court of Appeal has rejected the appeals of Karapetyan's lawyers. This was reported by Karapetyan's lawyer Aram Vardevanyan on his Facebook page.

"The investigative body, consisting of 53 investigators, has once again recorded decisive inaction and disrespect towards the judicial act. As a reminder, the Court of Cassation accepted the unfounded appeal of the Prosecutor's Office on October 24, and it is obvious that in conditions of political persecution, a judicial act is expected to be issued at a record speed. My prediction was that the Court of Cassation would not administer justice at all, since the name Samvel Karapetyan is written in the appeal and the appellant is the Prosecutor's Office. By the way, I have thoroughly studied the practice of the Anti-Corruption Chamber of the Court of Cassation in accepting cases and making decisions; there has not been a single instance where a decision was made by the Court of Cassation in even one month's time," Vardevanyan wrote.
