How Much Will It Cost to Rename the U.S. Department of Defense to the Department of War
The process of renaming the U.S. Department of Defense to the Department of War may require a budget allocation of $2 billion from the federal budget, according to NBC News.
Sources consulted by the outlet noted that the renaming will necessitate the replacement of thousands of signs, plaques, forms, and badges, as well as the modification of all other elements at U.S. military installations worldwide. They estimated that the production of new forms and signs for the new department alone could cost around $1 billion.
In early September, the President of the United States signed an executive order to rename the Department of Defense to the Department of War.
