As Long as He is President and I am Prime Minister, There Will Be No Sanctions: Orban on Trump
The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, has announced that he has reached an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump for an "indefinite exemption" from American sanctions against Russian oil. He made this statement on Facebook.
"We have agreed with President Trump on Hungary’s indefinite exemption from American sanctions against Russian oil," Orban stated. "As long as he is president, and I am prime minister, there will be no sanctions."
He emphasized that the implementation of U.S. sanctions against Russian energy sources would result in a two- to three-fold increase in utility costs in Hungary and a "thousand percent" rise in gasoline prices by Christmas, calling it a "real disaster."
The Prime Minister noted that the country has "managed to avert this danger," allowing Hungarian families to celebrate Christmas as they wish.
