Bayramov Reveals Offer Made by Lavrov Before November 9, 2020
The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, has shared details about an offer made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during one of the final meetings before the signing of the trilateral declaration on November 9, 2020. This information has been reported by Azerbaijani media.
According to Bayramov, Lavrov presented a brief document, which proposed that the parties establish a ceasefire without any conditions and without freeing other regions outside the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast from 'occupation' starting from November 9, 2020.
Moreover, it was suggested to deploy Russian peacekeepers alongside Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the eastern part of the contact line, while in the western part, Russian peacekeepers would be stationed with the Armenian Armed Forces. As understood, Azerbaijan rejected this offer.
