Health Condition of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan Deteriorates Sharply
On November 6, 2025, at approximately 16:00, the health condition of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan sharply deteriorated while he was at the 'Kentron' penitentiary facility in Yerevan. This was reported by Ghukasyan's lawyer, Zarouhi Postanjyan.
The penitentiary staff immediately called for emergency medical assistance, and Vardan Ghukasyan was transferred to the 'Saint Grigor Lusavorich' medical center. Preliminary information suggests that he is currently at the medical center. Details about his health condition are being clarified.
Vardan Ghukasyan had been in custody for 18 days. Prior to this, investigators and the court were informed about his health issues, yet a decision was made regarding his detention.
