Electoral Tension in New York: Trump Promises to Limit Funding if Democratic Candidate Wins

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will limit federal funding to New York if the Democratic candidate, Zohran Mamdani, wins the upcoming mayoral election. The Republican leader stated this on his social media page.

According to Trump, if Mamdani wins, New York will receive only the "most essential minimum" resources.

Reuters reports that recent polls indicate Mamdani is currently leading against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an independent candidate. The Republican Party is represented by Curtis Sliwa.
