This Is My Seventh Visit to Liberated Artsakh: Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan
The Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Evdokimov, has made yet another visit to the economic region of Artsakh. The diplomat is currently in Zangilan with representatives of the international diplomatic corps.
Evdokimov stated that he has been in Azerbaijan for three years now. “This is my seventh visit to liberated Artsakh. All my impressions are extremely positive,” he remarked. He recalled that Baku and Yerevan continue negotiations regarding a peace treaty, and that transport communications are vital for the region's development.
According to the ambassador, the restoration of the 44-kilometer railway route passing through the Zangezur corridor may take about two years. “Russian specialists have examined that section; the tunnels were not damaged, and only the restoration of infrastructure is required,” Evdokimov stated.
He assessed that the operation of the road would facilitate the strengthening of economic ties between Azerbaijan and Armenia and enhance mutual cooperation throughout the region.
