Tavush Governor Addresses Border Demarcation Process
Currently, there are no specific activities or processes regarding border demarcation in the Tavush region. This was announced by Tavush Governor Hayk Galumyan during a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly.
“Of course, discussions may be happening at the level of deputy prime ministers, but specifically in the Tavush region, there is no ongoing process related to that,” he stated, adding that until the border demarcation process is underway, it will not be clear where the border lies. “The 12.7 km section that has been demarcated was clarified at that time regarding where these points are set. Until there is demarcation, we cannot say,” noted the governor.
On the statements made by Armenia regarding areas that belong to Azerbaijan but are under Armenian control, he remarked, “It is quite evident; there is no big secret there. You know well that we have such areas in the Voskepar and Berkaberd regions.”
When asked how many students are studying in the village school after the construction of the Kiran wall, the governor replied, “Currently, 37 students are studying in the school, and five children are attending kindergarten. There has been no emigration from the village. At the moment, a state program is underway for the construction of 53 houses in the village of Kiran with a budget of 16 million.”
