Mamijanyan Appeals to EU Ambassador to Visit Armenians Detained in Baku
Leader of the "Honorable Duty" faction Hayk Mamijanyan today met with Nacho Sanchez Amor, the leading member on Armenian issues in the Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group and a member of the European Parliament who is a permanent rapporteur on Turkey.
During the meeting, Mamijanyan presented the internal political situation in Armenia and addressed issues regarding the judicial system, protection of human rights, and freedom of speech. The faction leader also discussed the situation of individuals detained in Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of support from international partners.
Considering the closure of the International Committee of the Red Cross office in Azerbaijan, Mamijanyan noted that he had sent a letter to the EU ambassador in Armenia, Vasilis Maraghos, requesting that the EU ambassador in Azerbaijan visit our compatriots detained in Baku.
The parties also discussed regional issues.
