Shutdown Costs the US $15 Billion Daily, Says Bessent
Recent data indicates that the shutdown is starting to harm the economy, potentially costing up to $15 billion daily, according to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in an interview with CNBC.
Bessent also announced that this week there will be working-level meetings between US and Chinese officials in Washington.
At the same time, he noted that Trump is not merely interested in negotiating with China as the stock market is experiencing declines due to the ongoing trade war.
