On August 8, the joint signing of a declaration by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington, as well as the preliminary signing of a peace agreement between the two countries, marks a significant stage in the peaceful resolution of a conflict that has lasted for over 30 years.
This statement was made by the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Zakir Hasanov, during a joint press conference in Ankara with his Turkish counterpart, Yashar Guler, and the Minister of Defense of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani.
He also noted that during the trilateral meeting, the importance of joint efforts against threats to peace, stability, and security in the region was emphasized.
