Armed Conflict Between the United States and Drug Dealers Has Begun: Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the country is engaged in an armed conflict with drug cartels. This was reported by The New York Times, which obtained a notification sent by the American leader to Congress.
According to the newspaper, the new status of the campaign against drug cartels is meant to provide a legal justification for previous strikes against vessels in the Caribbean Sea. Trump stated that the actions of cartel representatives would be considered armed attacks against the United States, while drug traffickers would be classified as illegal combatants.
It’s noteworthy that the U.S. Navy has already destroyed at least two high-speed boats in international waters of the Caribbean, with a total crew of 14, which were transporting drugs from Venezuela.
