Pashinyan on the Murder of Valodya Grigoryan
The incident that took place in Parakar raises questions that have also interested and troubled me. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press briefing held in Strasbourg.
"I believe it is evident that as a result of all this, there have also been dismissals. In February, similar events occurred in Parakar, resulting in casualties. There are 14 defendants in the case, and a trial is underway, but some of the defendants are not in custody at all, while others are under house arrest. Only one person is in custody," he stated, emphasizing that on the other hand, they are discussing the issue of prison overcrowding.
It should be reminded that on September 23 at 23:52, the police received a report that shots were fired on Yerevan Highway in the village of Mrdzavan, Armavir Province. As a result of an armed attack in Mrdzavan, Parakar community leader Valodya Grigoryan and police officer Karen Abrahamyan were killed.
