Limiting Mobile Phone Use in Schools
The Yerevan City Hall proposes to limit the use of mobile phones in schools. During today’s operational meeting, it was noted that restrictions are being suggested for implementation in all schools, while also ensuring legal foundations are established.
Additionally, it is proposed to conduct constant monitoring in 15 schools and to assess students’ physical, social, and psychological indicators, as well as the quality of their academic progress by the end of the year.
Responding to this initiative, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan stated that he suggests sending the matter for public opinion collection, after which final solutions will be presented. “Initially, schoolchildren will oppose our decision to some extent, but these restrictions will certainly have a positive impact on the quality of education, their daily lives, and even their happiness,” said Avinyan.
