Zelensky Asks Trump for Tomahawk Missiles to Strike Moscow
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky requested U.S. President Donald Trump for long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles during a private meeting at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to British newspaper The Telegraph, citing diplomatic sources.
In his discussion with Trump, Zelensky stated that the Tomahawk missiles would help convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to come to the negotiating table to discuss a peace agreement.
The meeting between the two presidents was described as “extremely positive,” although details regarding Trump’s response to Zelensky’s request were not disclosed. Following the meeting, Zelensky mentioned that he had asked the U.S. president for a “new weapon system” that would compel Putin to engage in negotiations. Zelensky noted that Trump responded by saying, “We will work on that.”
