Chabahar to Armenia, then to the Black Sea: There is a mutual agreement between Armenia and Iran, says ambassador
Chabahar to Armenia, and then to the Black Sea, as well as a transport route from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman, is part of a mutual understanding and agreement between Armenia and Iran. This was stated by the Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani.
“We are constructing a rapid road from Barzavan to Norduz. On the Armenian side, an Iranian company is carrying out the construction work of a 32 km road from Agarak to Kajaran, which will be completed ahead of schedule. After that, the 7.5 km Kajaran tunnel will be next, for which the winners of the competition will be announced very soon, and the tunnel construction will be completed within the set timeframe.
After the Kajaran tunnel, there will be a 63 km road, for which a competition has not yet been announced. Further competitions will take place. The Armenian government is interested in building this road by involving financial resources from international financial organizations. I am confident that after the construction of this road, there will be a significant revolution in the transport sector between the two countries, and flow will increase. This will create an opportunity to establish connections between Iran and the Black Sea, as well as between the Chabahar port and the Persian Gulf,” the ambassador emphasized.
