We Live and Perceive the World through the Models Created by Stalin, Brezhnev, and Khrushchev: Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at the "Democracy Forum," raised again a question regarding what democracy might look like in a country where people, including all of us, live with the models of patriotism created by Stalin and Brezhnev. "We live and perceive the world through the models created by Stalin, Brezhnev, and Khrushchev and say, but can democracy be ideal in Armenia? Of course, democracy cannot be ideal in Armenia, because people, starting from me and ending with others, think in formulas articulated by Stalin, expressions imported by Stalin, and perspectives shaped by him. In this regard, the most important characteristic of democracy is self-reflection. Where there is no self-reflection, there is no democracy," emphasized Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
