Tehran and Baku Discuss Russian Gas Transit Through Azerbaijan to Iran
Sadig and Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev discussed the transit of Russian gas through Azerbaijan to Iran. This was reported by the press service of the Azerbaijani government. It was noted that Farzana Sadig received a delegation led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister, which is on a visit to Iran.
"During the meeting, topics such as the joint development of oil blocks, the inclusion of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the gas exchange agreement between the two countries, the transit of Russian gas through Azerbaijan to Iran, and the development of electricity networks among the three countries were discussed," the statement said.
As part of the visit, an Azerbaijani delegation's trip to Shahid Rajaei Port and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran is planned.
Earlier, Mustafayev held a meeting with Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and discussed issues related to the implementation of joint projects with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshki.
