Russians Made Immediate Concessions in Alaska: Whitcoff
During the first meeting held in Alaska, the Russians made immediate concessions. This was stated by the U.S. President's special envoy, Steve Whitcoff, in an interview with Fox News.
“At the first meeting in Alaska, the Russians made concessions almost right away. These concessions partly helped us understand whether the Russians are willing to be more accommodating,” he said.
Whitcoff added that during the meeting in Anchorage, Trump and his team were focused on a long-term peace agreement rather than a temporary ceasefire. “We stayed there for quite a long time because we actually made progress in terms of how we could reach a peace agreement. During this meeting in Alaska, the president understood that we have many prerequisites for a peace agreement, so why not conclude a peace treaty at all,” he added.
