The European Union Will Continue Imposing Sanctions Against Russia
The European Union will continue to impose sanctions against Russia as long as the conflict in Ukraine remains unresolved. This was stated by the head of the European Commission’s press service, Arianna Podesta, as reported by TASS.
Podesta's remarks came in response to a question about the effectiveness of the 19th package of sanctions against Russia, in the context of ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
Earlier, the Telegraph newspaper cited its sources, indicating that discussions had begun within the EU regarding a possible easing of sanctions against Russia in response to a ceasefire in Ukraine.
