Armenians Know Very Well That Iran is One of Their Country's Security Factors, Says Iranian-Armenian MP
The Armenian-American agreements concerning the road running through Syunik, adjacent to Iran, contain questions and ambiguities that the Iranian president will discuss with the Armenian leadership. This was stated by Geghard Mansuryan, an Iranian-Armenian member of parliament.
"Iran firmly defends the security of its borders and the status quo; in Armenia, they know very well that Iran is one of their country's security factors," the Iranian official said in an interview with the state IRNA agency.
Mansuryan recalled a number of military exercises conducted in Iran over the past years and asserted that these drills have effectively prevented "certain adversaries from forcibly dividing the Syunik region."
