Greece Welcomes Armenian Embassy's Statement on Washington Meetings
Greece welcomes the announced agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan as an important step towards ending decades of conflict in the South Caucasus.
According to a statement released by the Armenian Embassy in Greece, Greece highly appreciates the efforts of both parties, as well as the U.S. government's role, which made progress possible in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"The signing and ratification of a final Peace Treaty between the two countries will be the next step towards ensuring lasting peace and prosperity, with the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity as guiding principles," the statement noted.
It is worth mentioning that a trilateral meeting has recently taken place in Washington between the leaders of Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan. A joint declaration was signed.
