The European Union's High Commissioner for Enlargement, Maria Kósa, congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the pre-signing of a peace agreement between the two countries. Maria Kósa announced this on her microblog on X.
“I congratulate President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the pre-signing of the peace agreement. This is a decisive step towards lasting peace and stability. I eagerly await my upcoming visits to Armenia and Azerbaijan, and I am ready to support the peace process and regional connectivity,” she wrote.
It should be noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan have pre-signed a peace agreement in Washington. During a press conference in Washington, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the parties have officially confirmed that this document is acceptable and unchangeable for them. According to him, the parties need to continue work towards signing and ratifying the agreement.
