US Analysts Believe Trump May Fall into Putin's 'Trap': CNN
US President Donald Trump may fall into a 'trap' during a potential meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This is reported by CNN. The channel recalls the meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, which failed to end North Korea's nuclear program.
"Another possible approach for Russia would be to convince Trump to divert attention from Ukraine by encouraging, perhaps promising, discussions on a nuclear weapons control agreement that would bolster his legacy, or some meaningful economic cooperation that could awaken Trump's deal-making instincts," the text states.
In the channel's view, the likelihood of a broad ceasefire is 'unlikely,' as Russian armed forces are conducting successful attacks. In this regard, CNN insists that Moscow may see cooperation with Trump as an opportunity to 'buy time' to gain control over the territories in Donbas.
