High Thermal Background Expected in Armenia
From August 4 to 8, dry weather is expected across the territory of the Republic. This was reported by the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.
In the evening hours, wind gusts are anticipated in Armavir, as well as in the foothills of Kotayk and Aragatsotn, with winds reaching speeds of 15-18 m/s. The air temperature will not change significantly.
In Yerevan, similarly, dry weather is expected from August 4 to 8. Wind gusts are also expected in the evening hours with speeds of 14-18 m/s.
The agency warns that due to the influx of tropical hot air from the south, a high thermal background is anticipated in the Ararat Valley, the foothills of Vayots Dzor, the valleys of Syunik, and in Yerevan from August 4 to 8. Daytime temperatures between 16:00 and 17:00 are predicted to reach +39 to +41 degrees Celsius.
In these regions, as well as in the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, a high fire risk situation is also expected in the coming five days.
