Building Collapsing, Filled with Snakes and Scorpions: Residents of Vardashen Hostel Protest
"We are ignored by everyone, the building is collapsing, and I won't even start talking about the snakes and scorpions. How long can we live among these snakes?" said a resident of the public hostel at 70 Vardashen Street (also known as the Multifamily Hostel) during a protest outside the city hall. She noted that the residents of the emergency hostels at 68 and 68A Vardashen Street are right to hold protests.
"They are not foolish to remain silent and wait. There are only 17 rooms here, and no one has come to check on the situation of our building, even though Mr. Avinyan promised improvements would be made along with those at the two hostels," the resident stated, adding that the mayor of Erebuni has not received them, and that they too will be staging protests.
