High Thermal Background Expected in Armenia
Due to the influx of tropical warm air from the south, a high thermal background is expected in the Ararat Valley, the foothills of Vayots Dzor, the valleys of Syunik, and Yerevan from August 1 to 5. During the day, temperatures are projected to reach +38 to +40 degrees Celsius between 16:00 and 17:00.
In these areas, as well as in the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, there is also a high risk of fire hazards in the coming five days, as reported by the Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center.
In some regions of the Republic of Armenia, short rains and thunderstorms are expected today and tomorrow after noon, with possible hail.
According to the report, the wind will be from the west at a speed of 2-5 m/s, and during thunderstorms, wind intensification is expected to reach 17-20 m/s. In the evening hours, gusts of wind of 15-18 m/s are anticipated in Armavir, the foothills of Kotayk, and Aragatsotn. Air temperatures are not expected to change significantly.
In Yerevan, from August 1 to 5, dry weather is forecast. Increased wind speeds of 12-15 m/s are anticipated in the evening hours.
