Strong Winds Cause Significant Damage: Emergency Incidents Reported
On July 15, at 18:08, the National Crisis Management Center and regional crisis management centers received reports that trees had fallen and roof metal sheets had been damaged in the cities of Yerevan, Gyumri, Ijevan, Vanadzor, Spitak, Tashir, and Tumanyan due to high winds. There was also a risk of iron structural elements from a stage falling, prompting the need for firefighters' assistance. This was reported by the rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Emergency response units from the fire and rescue departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Yerevan and the regions were dispatched to the scene. Rescuers carried out work to cut and remove fallen trees, secure weakened metal sheets, and prevent the risk of falling iron structures.
A total of 10 emergency incidents have been recorded due to the strong winds: 1 incident in Yerevan, 1 in Shirak Province, 4 in Tavush Province, and 4 in Lori Province. Rescuers responded to all reports, providing the necessary assistance.
