Violations Found in 'Bekon Product' and 'Tamara Food' LLCs; Operations Suspended
According to a decision by the head of the inspection agency, the production operations of the meat processing plant belonging to 'Bekon Product' LLC have been suspended for two types of products (located in Kotayk Province, village of Arzni, Abovyan highway).
Laboratory tests conducted on six product samples revealed that two samples – 'Beef Pancakes' produced on 01.07.2025 – exceeded the permissible limits for mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria (MAFAnMK), as well as for enterobacteriaceae (EB) samples. The second sample, 'Classic Pelmeni' produced on 03.07.2025, also failed to meet the standards set by the technical regulations of the Eurasian Customs Union regarding MAFAnMK.
To address the identified discrepancies, a deadline has been set, and orders have been issued to prohibit the sale of the batches, recall them from the market, and either destroy or remove them.
The food safety inspection agency's inspectors in Yerevan also conducted checks at the meat processing plant belonging to 'Tamara Food' LLC (located in Kotayk Province, town of Abovyan). During the inspection, samples from existing meat products were sent for laboratory testing.
Violations were found in all examined samples: the 'Deep-Frozen Khinkali' (produced on 26.06.2025) showed signs of mold, while samples from 'Family Pelmeni' (produced on 12.06.2025) and 'Ishli Kyufta' (produced on 01.07.2025) were contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Additionally, the sample from 'Meat-Filled Blinchiki' (produced on 27.06.2025) did not comply with MAFAnMK and EB limits.
As a result, the production operations related to the aforementioned products at 'Tamara Food' LLC's meat processing plant have been suspended until the violations are rectified. The company has also been issued an order regarding the prohibition of the sale of the batches, their recall from the market, and their destruction or removal.
