The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, referred to Georgia as a "beast" that Brussels fears during a joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. This was reported by "News of Georgia".

“Seven percent economic growth. That is an amazing achievement. At the same time, your budget deficit is decreasing, and national debt is lowering... It is a great honor for us to meet with a Prime Minister who has achieved such results,” Orban said.

He emphasized the importance of discussing Georgia's achievements, as they indeed represent significant steps forward. “I am sure that reaching this point was not easy. We Hungarians would be proud of such results. In 2022, when global liberals were trying to destabilize the situation—both here and there—to hinder our countries from maintaining their current governments... Imagine what would have happened at that time. But even today we must still fight. Because for them, the Georgian government is a beast that Brussels fears to confront. Georgia was the first to decide to resist. And that feeling resonates with us. We too seek similar economic growth, and we believe that the time will surely come when we achieve it,” Orban stated.

“Hungary firmly defends Georgia's sovereignty not only in bilateral relations but also within the framework of the European Union. We have always considered ourselves your allies and defenders, and we continue to uphold Georgia's interests in all battles for its independence and sovereignty, even when Brussels objects. We are united in our determination to do everything we can to support Georgia on its steadfast path to EU membership,” he announced.
