Director of NSS Discusses the Fate of Missing Persons
The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia held its regular meeting of the inter-agency commission dealing with issues concerning prisoners, hostages, and missing persons, chaired by Director Armen Abazyan. The information was reported by the NSS press service.
“Abazyan presented the outcomes of meetings conducted during the preceding period, reaffirming the commission's commitment to continue comprehensive and systematic work aimed at clarifying the fates of the missing persons,” the statement said.
It was noted that representatives from the Investigative Committee presented the results of ongoing investigations regarding the circumstances of disappearances to the commission.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the commission's chairman, NSS Director Abazyan, expressed hope that joint and coordinated efforts would lead to tangible results in determining the fates of missing individuals.
It should be noted that family members of prisoners, hostages, and missing persons participated in the meeting, along with human rights defender Siranuhi Sahakyan and former Human Rights Defender, human rights advocate Arman Tatoyan.
